How to Set Up Your Account on Clea

To use Clea for Copart payments, you’ll need to set up a personal or business account. 

Open an account on Clea using your registered business name, Tax Identification Number (TIN), and business email address, and complete a one-time verification. Once your account is verified, you’ll automatically have a Naira account and a USD account in your business name. 

If you’re registering as an individual, you can sign up using your personal details as they appear on your government-issued ID. The process is the same. Once verified, you’ll also have access to both a Naira and a USD account.

While signing up on Clea, pay attention to your name, as this must match the name on your Copart member profile exactly. If your Copart account is in your business name, register on Clea with the same business name. And if your Copart account is in your business name but you’d prefer to register on Clea as an individual, make sure to use the name on the ID you submitted to Copart. How to Pay Copart From Nigeria Using Clea

Step 1: Generate Your Payment Details on Copart

1. Log in to your Copart account and head to your Payments Due page. This is where all your unpaid invoices sit after you’ve won a bid.

2. Select the checkbox next to the vehicles you want to pay for.

3. Click the Pay Invoice button in the lower right corner of the screen.

4. On the checkout page, you’ll see your payment options. Choose Wire Transfer as your method and click Continue to Next Steps.

5. Enter the requested details. Copart will ask for your name, email address, and the amount you’re paying. 

6. Once that’s done, click Generate Reference Number. This reference number is important as it’s how Copart matches your payment to your account, so save it somewhere you can easily access it.

7. Finally, download the Wire Transfer Instructions. This document contains the bank details – account number, SWIFT code, bank address, ABA or routing number, which you’ll need to complete the transfer on Clea.

Step 2: Fund Your Clea Wallet

There are two simple ways to top up your wallet balance.

Option 1: Fund with Naira 

1. Transfer Naira into your Clea wallet from any bank account in Nigeria. Select bank transfer and use your regular bank app or internet banking to send money to your Clea Naira account details. The deposit reflects quickly. 

2. Once the deposit reflects, convert Naira to USD directly within the app at the current exchange rate. This is easy as compared to sourcing dollars from a bureau de change and taking it to the bank. 

Option 2: Fund with StableCoin 

1. If you already hold USDC or USDT, you can fund your Clea USD wallet directly with stablecoin. 

2. Choose either the Base Mainnet or Tron network. 

3. A unique wallet address will be generated for you.
4. Send your stablecoins to that wallet address generated for you. After sending, input the transaction hash, and click Submit Transaction. You get credited instantly, and you can proceed to make a wire transfer to Copart.

Step 3: Add Copart as a Beneficiary

1. Click Beneficiaries

2. Then, click New at the top right corner of the screen. This is where you enter the details from the wire transfer instructions you just downloaded.

3. Fill in the profile by inputting the name, industry, address, and others as seen on the page. Make sure it matches the details from the transfer instructions you downloaded from Copart. Then click Continue to Account Details.

4. Enter the account and routing number, and other bank details as they appear on the Copart invoice. Then, click Continue to Review.

5. Make sure all the details you filled in are correct. Then click Confirm and Submit.     

Step 4: Complete Your Transfer on Clea

1. After converting your Naira to USD or funding your USD wallet, go to the homepage and tap on Send.

2. Simply search and select the beneficiary you saved, that is Copart.

3. Enter the amount you want to transfer, which should match the total on your Copart invoice. The transfer type is selected automatically.

4. Still on the page, upload the invoice document you downloaded from Copart. This serves as your supporting documentation for the transfer. And enter the reference number you generated on Copart’s checkout page.

5. Review all the details, tap Continue, and confirm to send money to Copart.

Once the transfer is sent, it typically takes 2 to 5 hours to process.

Important Things to Note When Paying Copart From Nigeria

• The name on your Clea account must match the name on your Copart member profile to process payments successfully. Copart is strict about an exact name match. If the names don’t match, it could delay your payment or even lead to rejection of the wire transfer. So make sure your personal or business name is consistent across both platforms before you initiate any transfers.
• Don’t wait until the last day to pay. Even though Clea processes transfers quickly, it’s always better to initiate your payment on the day of the sale or the day after. That way, you have a comfortable buffer.
• Double-check the invoice total before transferring. The amount on your Copart invoice includes all fees, not just the winning bid. Make sure the amount you’re sending matches the invoice exactly so no shortfall holds up the process.
